I originally found Alison through the recommendation of KC Davis on TikTok. This course has been such a great way to learn and review the foundational concepts of Alison’s work. I’m incredibly grateful to have the classes. She explains things in a way that validates the kind of simplicity you hope for in an organizational system. I am astounded by how much I’ve been able to get through in my house because of Alison. I’m just incredibly grateful.

Alison came to us in a time of crisis when my husband was unable to cope with his mountains of treasures and his anxiety level had reached unmanageable proportions. She met with us, got to know us a bit and the scope of the situation and together we all decided to give it a go. That was 5 and half years ago before dementia tightened its grip. Alison has become an ally in this adventure and meets him where he is—a concept not many can work with—especially when “where he is” can change from one minute to the next. She is able to gauge what he is capable of and work with that, always with the utmost kindness and respect and with the full understanding of his strengths and his limitations. As the disease progresses and his memory fades, Alison has been able to clear out some of the stuff that was being saved “because we might need it someday”. As a child of the holocaust, his need to collect things is almost a life force and one he can neither understand nor control. She respects this need and understands the underlying terror of losing control and gently helps him to let go when he is ready to do so. As she often says, we are his team, and I honestly don’t know how I would cope without her! She is a true kindred spirit.

I am so grateful to Alison for all of her invaluable insights. She has opened my eyes to much more than I could have imagined I was capable of. This is a process, it’s life alerting . Alison’s gentle and patient approach allows you to work at your pace. Even if you’re only thinking about making positive changes with regards to organizing and decluttering this can serve as a catalyst for you. I have ADHD and this was just the right bite size amount of information to lead me in the right direction. I understand better how I manage my belongings and I'm more conscious about bringing new items in to my home. You will not regret this course, all you need is someone who understands that it’s not just about “cleaning up”, it’s about making choices today that will impact you and those around you for life. Just do it!

Alison offers not only great content about organizing and useful resources, she does so in an engaging way, with respect for the client, with humor and while sharing parts of her personal journey. That makes her one of the finest educators I know. If I wasn't a certified Professional Organizer myself already, I might have taken all her courses. But hey...maybe I still will!

I started working with Alison on organizing my home exactly four years ago, in June 2018. I am still working with Alison today, in 2022 and I call it organizing my life. I feel extremely blessed to have met Alison, as I had been looking for a professional organizer for a long time. Alison really listens, she is supportive and empathetic and makes me feel very comfortable. What I appreciate is that she doesn't go by rules, she offers suggestions and then adapts to the person's needs, in this way she is very creative. After every session with Alison, I feel very positive and motivated to continue. Working with her is an educational experience that has enriched my life. I am so grateful to have found Alison!
